Pokemon fans were treated this week to a brand-new update for the Pokemon Home application, available on the Nintendo Switch and mobile devices. Version 2.0. adds connectivity to the more recent mainline Pokemon games, including Pokemon Legends: Arceus, Pokemon Brilliant Diamond, and Pokemon Shining Pearl. Fans can now deposit Pokemon from these games into Pokemon Home and trade them between older games like Sword and Shield and Let's GO Pikachu and Eevee.

If Pokemon Home players go to the Deposit section of the main menu, they'll see the list of compatible Pokemon games. It's possible to deposit Pokemon from all of them; however, some players will be unable to do this because of their saved data.

Not only does the Pokemon game need to be updated to its latest version, but players need to have a save file that's from the updated version. So if players have not touched Pokemon Legends: Arceus in months, and Pokemon Home isn't letting them deposit Pokemon, the players need to hop into their file and save the game. And the same goes for Pokemon BDSP, Pokemon Let's GO, and Pokemon Sword & Shield.

To save the game in Pokemon Legends: Arceus, players just need to press the up button on the d-pad and then hit the triggers to go over to the Save section. Press A to save. As for Pokemon BDSP, Sword and Shield, and Pokemon Let's GO players, just open up the menu and press the save option.

Once players have created a new save data for the updated version of the game, go back into the Pokemon Home app, and it should now let players connect to the game of their choice. Pick the Pokemon to deposit, and then send them over to hang out in Pokmon Home.

It's also worth noting that since Pokemon Legends: Arceus takes place in a past version of the Sinnoh region, the Poke Balls used are different than the ones used in modern Pokemon games. So, when Pokemon caught in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond, Pokemon Shining Pearl, Pokemon Sword, or Pokemon Shield are transferred to Pokemon Legends: Arceus, they will appear in Strange Balls. However, the Strange Balls will not appear in Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield.

An easy way to save water is to use a bucket and sponge when washing cars and bikes. Washing your bike or car with a bucket and sponge instead of a hose saves a lot of water. A hose can waste 6 gallons per minute if you leave it running, but using a bucket and sponge only uses a few gallons! Also, some car washes recycle water instead of letting it run down the sewer drains. Ask your parents to check if a car wash near you recycles water.

Think about all the devices currently plugged in at home: laptops, gaming consoles, TVs, kitchen appliances, alarm clocks, even electric toothbrushes. The average home has dozens of items plugged in at any given time. What's more, 75 per cent of the electricity these devices consume is used when they aren't even on. That's a lot of energy. In fact, all that phantom power can add up to 10 per cent of a home's energy costs.

Look for power saving settings on your game console or other entertainment equipment, and for settings that limit automatic updates. That way, even if they're plugged in, they may use less phantom power.

No matter which default setting you choose, you still can select the save location you want each time you save a file. When you click Save for new files or Save As for existing files, click OneDrive or This PC and then pick a folder to save your file to.

Before you design a new home or remodel an existing one, consider investing in energy efficiency. You'll save energy and money, and your home will be more comfortable and durable. The planning process is also a good time to look into a renewable energy system that can provide electricity, water heating, or space heating and cooling. You may also want to explore your options for financing an energy-efficient home.

In an existing house, the first step is to conduct a home energy assessment (sometimes referred to as an energy audit) to find out how your home uses energy and determine the best ways to cut energy use and costs. To learn more about home energy assessments and find free tools and calculators, go to Your Home's Energy Use, the Residential Services Network, and the Building Performance Institute.

If you plan to design and build a new home or do an extensive remodel on an existing house, optimizing home energy efficiency requires a whole-house systems approach to ensure that you and your team of building professionals consider all the variables, details, and interactions that affect energy use in your home. In addition to how you use energy, the conditions of where your home is situated, and the local climate, these include:

Before making upgrades, you may also want to work with an energy assessor to use the Home Energy Score. The Home Energy Score is a national rating system, developed by the U.S. Department of Energy, which provides a rating of your home's current efficiency, as well as a list of improvements and potential savings. The Score reflects the energy efficiency of a home based on the home's structure and heating, cooling, and hot water systems. The Home Facts provide details about the current structure and systems. Recommendations show how to improve the energy efficiency of the home to achieve a higher score and save money.

Ultra-efficient homes combine state-of-the-art energy-efficient construction, appliances, and lighting with commercially available renewable energy systems, such as solar water heating and solar electricity. By taking advantage of local climate and site conditions, designers can often also incorporate passive solar heating and cooling and energy-efficient landscaping strategies. The intent is to reduce home energy use as cost-effectively as possible, and then meet the reduced load with on-site renewable energy systems.

Manufactured homes (formerly known as mobile homes) are built to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Code, and are constructed on a permanent chassis so they can be moved. Owners can improve the energy efficiency of these homes by caulking and weather stripping, air sealing, and choosing energy-efficient lighting and appliances.
